Any member of the Laguna Beach Lawn Bowling Club is eligible to be included in the 2006 Singles Round Robin Challenge Ladder. (Round Robin play involves each participant playing all the other ladder members.) You may join the ladder at any time.
The Ladder
The purpose of the challenge ladder is to allow all players, from beginner to expert, to play other enthusiasts. All players have the opportunity to challenge other players who are participating.
The Rules
1. A challenger may contact his opponent in person, by phone or e-mail to set up a challenge match.
The player challenged must be available to play within 4 weeks. Exceptions are only made for
valid excuses. The HONOR SYSTEM is in effect here.2. All matches are to be played at Laguna Beach Lawn Bowling Club.
3. The match, consisting of 3 sets of 9 points (best out of 3) must be played within 4 weeks at a time that
is convenient for both players. The winner will be awarded 5 points. The loser will be awarded
2 points.4. If two players arrange to play a match and one player does not show up at the agreed time (or retracts
the agreement altogether), then that player automatically loses the match. The winner will be awarded
5 points. The loser will be awarded 2 points.5. The person winning is responsible for reporting the result to the ladder organizers.
6. Players can have multiple challenge matches arranged, since the round robin format is not dependent on
the results of the other games.
General Ladder Regulations:
The 2006 Laguna Beach Lawn Bowling Club Challenge Ladder will run from February 1, till the Annual General meeting which is held in November.
Club members wishing to participate will be listed alphabetically by their first name; however, members who join after the initial signup will be added to the bottom of the list.
When a person withdraws from the 2006 Ladder competition, all his/her games played and scores will be expunged.
The bowler with the highest score by the Annual General meeting will be declared 2006 Ladder Champion.
The fee for each challenge match shall be as for the daily game fee of $1.00.
The results of the games played and scores will be updated each Sunday evening.
The Ladder will not be initiated unless there is a minimum of 12 participants.
